When you're at home, the app is designed to connect directly to the hub over a local network, which should give you a very fast connection. Occasionally your app may not recognize that you are on your home network, resulting in a connection via remote control.
Usually remote controlling your system through the cloud is fast, but sometimes, if there's a bad or intermittent connection somewhere in the loop, you could see temporary performance problems.
If your mobile device is on the same network as your hub, but you think the app isn't connecting directly anyway, you can try to force it to re-discover the hub by logging out and logging back in to your app while on your home WiFi.
If the problem persists, you can also try logging in via Secure ID. To do this, log out and then select the "No internet connection" option from the login screen. Then follow the on-screen instructions, and when prompted, enter the secure ID number from the bottom of your hub into the app. This should force you to login locally.
Please note that while logged in via the Secure ID, you will not be able to control your system via remote control
